Job Summary

The Computer Hardware & Network Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computer hardware systems and network infrastructure. The role ensures smooth IT operations by providing technical support, resolving system issues, and maintaining network security and performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Hardware Installation & Maintenance

• Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripheral devices.

• Assemble and upgrade computer systems (RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboard, power supply, etc.).

• Diagnose and repair hardware faults and replace defective components.

• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.

2. Network Installation & Support

• Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN networks.

• Set up routers, switches, modems, and Wi-Fi access points.

• Configure IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and network sharing.

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

3. System & Software Support

• Install and configure operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).

• Install antivirus software and perform system security updates.

• Troubleshoot software-related issues and ensure system compatibility.

• Provide end-user technical support (onsite and remote).

4. Security & Backup

• Implement basic network security measures (firewalls, antivirus, user access control).

• Maintain data backup systems and restore data when required.

• Ensure protection against malware, ransomware, and cyber threats.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of hardware inventory and network configurations.

• Document technical issues and solutions.

• Prepare maintenance and service reports.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Computer Hardware, Networking, IT, or related field.
